CENTENARY INFORMATION
We are celebrating our Centenary over the next academic year. A number of exciting events are being organised and we are hoping to hear from, and see, as many past pupils, parents, staff and governors as possible. Please refer to this website page for more details as they are published.
CENTENARY MOSAIC
To launch the school's Centenary, our children turned their own designs into a giant mosaic mural. The boys and girls were given the opportunity to develop a large art project from design stage to completion. Working with two visiting artists they learnt mosaic skills and were inspired to extend and develop their own original designs onto a larger scale. As you can see from the main photograph above, the mosaic has created a colourful and permanent record of our school in the 21st Century.
CENTENARY OPEN DAY
We are delighted to invite
past parents, staff and governors to our
CENTENARY OPEN DAY
on Saturday 24th March 2012
from 10am - 3pm.
We will be displaying a range of photos and memorabilia at this event, reflecting school life here over the past one hundred years. The playgrounds and all the classrooms will also be open for you to look at. If you have any old memorabilia or photographs of the school which we may display on the day, please contact the school office.
CHRISTMAS CHURCH SERVICE OF THANKSGIVING
A special Church Service at Holy Trinity Church, Claygate was held on Thursday 15th December. As part of our school's Centenary celebrations, we reinstated the old tradition of our Choir boys and girls wearing the red choir robes which had been used by past generations of our pupils. Each child has the privilege of sewing his or her name label in the collar to add to the previous wearer of that particular robe. This custom goes back many years and was warmy welcomed by our current parents.

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS!
To celebrate the Centenary, our pupils were invited to dress up in their party clothes and attend a very special birthday party for our school. They loved playing the old fashioned party games such as 'Pass the Parcel', 'Musical Statues' and 'Simon Says'. The children then enjoyed a festive lunch, following which everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to the school and enjoyed a slice of birthday cake. At the end of the day, every child was given a Centenary teddy bear as a memento of the day.
