Extended Day Activities



Extended day school activities are very popular and we offer a variety of activities for children from Reception to Year 2.

Children are supervised until the start of their activity. During this time, they are offered a special ‘Extended Day Activities Tea' prior to the activity. This includes sandwiches, a savoury, a variety of fruit and fruit juice.

We have produced below a sample term’s choice of activities:

 Mondays
 Tennis  An opportunity to develop your child’s co-ordination skills through the sport of tennis. There are three levels of skill, depending on age and ability. Pupils work within their year groups.

 Cookery  A basic course which introduces children to the delights of food. The principles of nutrition, hygiene and basic techniques will be taught and the next Jamie Oliver may be discovered!

 Tuesday
 Golf  A great introduction to this popular sport.  During the course, the children will learn the basic skills necessary, all taught through lively games.

 Chess  An introduction to the strategic game of chess. All the basics are taught and used at various levels of competition. A chess team may be formed from this activity and fixtures arranged.

 All the skills of basic traditional board games will be taught and used at various levels of competition.

 Construction  An early introduction to engineering. This will be a construction based activity using popular children’s materials. Each half term’s activity will be based around a range of challenging tasks that stretch the thinking and problem solving skills of all children involved.

 Performing Arts
 A great opportunity to practice those theatrical performing skills. Elements of drama, speech, performance and dance will be incorporated into a lively and stimulating session that encourages creativity.

 Painting and Modelling
 Make it, sculptt it, draw it or paint it! This is a brilliant activity for the young creative mind.

 Art  On canvas, on paper with paint, pastel or pencil, this activity is an inspirational activity that feeds the creative aspirations of any budding Monet, Rembrandt or Pollock!

 An opportunity to develop your child's skills in a variety of sports including hockey, basketball and football, as well as playing a range of team games.
